And the 10.61" of clearance below gives you room for storing boxes and seasonal clothing, saving you some closet space. Best of all, a box spring isn't required, so all you have to do is add the mattress of your choice (sold separately).

The wall bed is designed to accommodate a mattress of your choice up to 10" thick; Maximum mattress weight for the queen size option is 70 lbs; the maximum mattress weight for the full size option is 60 lbs. The minumum mattress weight is 30 lbs. for each size. (mattress not included).

The bed operates on gas pistons - pressure within the piston when it is extended keeps the bed in position. Also, the weight of the mechanism/frame is 88 pounds.
